Our church hosted a highly successful blood drive on March 30th. Our goal had been set at 27 units. We started the day with forty appointments and came away collecting forty-three units. We had a couple of walk-ins and only two people were deferred. This marked our one hundred and sixty first drive.

Rich Tice set up the church dining room. Holly Scrano printed out the paperwork. Donna Farkas saw to it that posters were distributed around town and the Red Cross yard signs were in position. John Dey and Steve Mosier unloaded the van, at 8:00 Saturday morning.  Diane Slade supervised the canteen. Steve and Donna covered the registration table. John and Steve reloaded the van at the close of the drive and Rich saw to it that the dining room was put back in order. We very much appreciate their efforts in making this another smooth running venture.

 

The next drive will be June 1st from 9am until 2pm and we already have twenty people scheduled. These donors should plan to get a good night's sleep and hydrate. We had one fainting incident at the last drive so we can't stress enough the importance of hydration and a good night's sleep.
