RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE

Homer First United Methodist Church hosted its one hundred thirty fourth bloodmobile this past August 3rd.  Church volunteers started their preparations days in advance by distributing posters about town.  Nancy Albro contacted potential donors.  Then Dave Cottrell & Richard Tice set up the church dining room the day before.  John Dey & Steve Mosier met the truck, at 6:30 Saturday morning to unload.  Donna Farkas & Nancy worked the registration table.  Bob Bennett & Sherry Keep covered the canteen and Susan Fitch & Bob Keep were observers.  John & Steve reloaded the truck at the end of the drive and Rich & Dave put the church dining room back in order.  THANK YOU to all the volunteers for their on-going support.  This effort was rewarded by collecting Thirty five units of whole blood, surpassing our goal of 29 units.

Our next bloodmobile will be September 28th.  Power Red collection units will be available for type A-, B, AB- and O.

Those who wish to donate, either whole blood or Power Red, should call and make an appointment at:

1-800-RED-CROSS or go to:

The making of PRAYER SHAWLS is a ministry of love meant to be shared.  We always have plenty on hand.  Everyone is encouraged to take one or more – for yourself, for a loved one, or for anyone you know who might benefit from it.  Use it to stay warm during worship, then take it home.  We hope you find them a blessing.
